ACS Board of Directors selects new executive

Saskatoon (July 13, 2017) – The Agriculture Council of Saskatchewan Inc. (ACS) Board of Directors has elected a new executive and one new Board member.

Norm Hall, a producer in the Wynyard area accepted a second term as Chair of the ACS Board of Directors. Norm, who represents the Agricultural Producers Association of Saskatchewan (APAS) has been a member of the ACS Board of Directors since 2015 and assumed the Chair position in June of 2016.

John Serhienko, a producer in the Blaine Lake area is newly elected to the ACS Board of Directors.  John represents Simply Ag Solutions Inc. where he also serves as a Director on the Board.


The ACS Board of Directors also includes Harvey Brooks, General Manager of the Saskatchewan Wheat Development Commission who serves as ACS Vice-Chair and Gordon Schroeder, Executive Director of the Saskatchewan Sheep Development Board who serves as ACS Secretary-Treasurer.  Remaining Board members are Dr. Michael Nickerson, U. of S. Research Chair Department of Food & Bioproduct Sciences; Wayne Truman, Director with the Saskatchewan Canola Development Commission; and Roger Provencher, representing the Saskatchewan Bison Association. Deb Niekamp represents Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and Shawn Gibson represents the Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture.


Agriculture Council of Saskatchewan is a non-profit, member based organization with 22 full and five supporting members. ACS works on behalf of our members to provide solutions to industry issues and capture new opportunities.  ACS programs provide information, support, training and administration, bringing broad benefits across the provincial agriculture and agri-food sectors.
